About the REAL Food Act

The REAL Food Act (Regulating Engineered and Altered-food for Life Act) is proposed federal legislation that would prohibit bioengineered foods, cell-cultured meat, and shelf-life coatings for human consumption, and require the FDA and USDA to base food safety decisions on independent testing rather than industry-supplied data.
